なんでだろう！？今日は急に凄くNujabesに関連する事が頭をよぎる。

適当にyoutubeを検索するといいプレイリストが沢山あるんだよね。

 

たまに思うけど、やっぱりこうやって簡単にいろんな音楽が無料で聞けるから、どんどん買わなくなるのは当然だよね。

 

先日は自分の生徒も自分のバンドのCDをタダでコピーさせてくれないかと、、、
自分の感覚からすると本人に無料で商売としている商品をくださいというのは凄い感覚だと一瞬思ったけど

今の世の中の常識だと当然だとすぐ切り替える事ができた。

そこで、一人でもいいから分かった欲しいと思った。

「欲しいな」と思うものには価値があって、それをどうやって表現してもいいけど（お礼でも、お金でも、物々交換でも）欲しい意思が生まれるのにそれに比例する表現がないと寂しいよね。タダの消費する世界になってしまう。

 自分は買えなくてもお礼が言えるときはそれを伝えて思うようにして、逆に自分の人生をより裕福になった気がする。

一番お得な気持ちになれるのはタダや安く物を手に入れたときではなくて感謝の気持ちであふれるときだなと。

感謝を感じるのも大切だけど、忙しいと伝える事もできないと残念だと思って、日々忙しいなかでも感謝を伝える事に自分は心がけている。

This is a playlist I found today that I've been listening to while doing some desk work before my rehearsals

 

It's really great that we have so much "free" music at our fingertips, but at the same time I feel that it's so easy to get things for free that sometimes we forget about the value of these contents.

The other day, surprisingly one of my students asked if he could copy my CD into his iPod. I felt that this was kinda awkward to ask for something for free directly to the person that made the product.

It's almost like saying it has no value. But I quickly changed my perspective. It's all free for everyone, so why would he think that my music was any different. Most people think that musicians like making music so they don't need to be payed to make it. They should enjoy the fact that someone listens to it.

That's true. If someone would pay for my home and food and instruments and other living costs, I would want no more than a thank you. I think everyone is the same. We all drive buses or make presentations about products, or do brain surgery so we can get by and so that we can give value back to our society.

Unfortunately a lot of times we forget about being thankful to all these services and products that have been given to us. especially if it's free. I'm most grateful not when I get something for free, or when I get a good deal. It's more fulfilling when you are filled with gratefulness for something.

It's one thing to feel this emotion, and another to express it! I hope everyone gets a chance to say thank you when you feel it.

先日アップロードしたThe Lo-Fiのビデオを見ていたときにこのビデオもyoutubeに出てきた、朝起きて急に聞きたくなった。この曲は自分の大好きな Ino Hidefumiも演奏しているバージョンがあって、Uyamaさんのサウンドがこの江ノ島の景色と気もちのいい感じで最高です！

こういうメンバーと一緒にライブをしたいな、、と今日は起きて凄く思った。

昨日はYoshともリハーサルが終ってから色々と話していて、思った事はミュージシャンやアーティストは演奏していたり制作していないと本当に苦しくて。活動をしている時に活動を可能にする環境というのが大きく作っているアートを影響する。

辛いときには辛いから作る音であって、幸せな時は幸せだから作る音がある。
どんな時も作品を作り続けたり演奏していく事がとても大事だと思った。

どんな人も自分の仕事がなんであれ、毎日クリエイターとして何か価値を想像していると思っている。それが人間関係であったり、報告書なのか、彫刻なのか分からないけど。
作るものは全て美しい自分の人生や価値観の鏡なんだと思う。





Today I woke up with a strong urge to listen to some music that was ringing in my head for a while.
When I uploaded the Lo-Fi video of our performance in Enoshima I found the link on youtube.
The first video on this blog is by Uyama-san playing the sax. Really great combination with the background of the ocean behind Enoshima.

There's also a version of this song performed by one of my favorite keyboardists Ino Hidefumi.
I've attached a link to his blog above as well. Albeit it's all Japanese.

Really hope to perform with people like this this year.
Yesterday Yosh (Lo-Fi's drummer) and I had a long talk about life and music.
Really thought about how much our lives and environment around us influence what we create.

If times are tough, we make music accordingly. If we feel good, I'm sure that that sounds or art we create will reflect that. It's important for artists to keep creating no matter where they are in their life emotionally or economically, or physically for that matter...

At the same time I think that we are all artists. It may be a report that your writing, or a human relationship you are nurturing, or a sculpture that your carving. It's all beautiful, cause it's a reflection of your life.
