Ayumi x Lo-Fi x Sony collaboration!

So the long awaited new music video is finally here!

やっとビデオがリリースされました！

It's a collaboration between our band and painter Ayumi.

She's a unique painter in Japan that mixes street art styles with stained glass and acrylic paints to create a mishmash of different tastes with a uniting theme linked to emotions.

Like music it captures a feeling that we have like a record of our emotional past.

We tried putting the painting and music together to a high degree by recording the painting sounds themselves as an instrument. This was made possible by using the Sony HDRMV1 camera to film and record at the same time.

All the footage you see in our clip is from the MV1, same goes for the sound!
NOTHING was recorded on another recording device...!

The story of this video is about being isolated and alone, but by creating something, it brings people together.

今回の映像はAyumiと一緒にコラボレーションをしました！

全ての映像と音は実際の絵を描きあげる過程で発生する音とLo-Fiの楽曲を合わせて曲にしました。

実際ライブペインティングのイベントをやる形で過程を映像にできて面白い作品になったと思うのでチェックしてください。全ての映像と音は全部 SONY MV1で撮影しております。

 

Brainstorming

先日はいま制作を始めたばかりのビデオのミーティングをした。







アイディアを出して話すをするにも、言葉で映像や音の話は難しい。


いい点も悪い点も色々とあるけど、YouTube をはじめとする色んな映像を簡単に探して直ぐに共有できるのは便利だ


でも、結局頭の中にしかない物は上手く工夫して、例えを使って伝えてかいくしかない。


人とコミュニケーション取る時にいつも誰もが悩むことだけど、「本当に伝わってるのかな」と


実際のところ信じるしかなくて確認のしようがない。


アートは抽象的だからそのブレ幅がまた凄い 笑



システム開発とかのプロジェクトだったら、まぁ、「崩壊」している要件定義であっても、作品を作る時は「面白さ」だったりもする。



ま、「技術による」誤差や「人間による」理由で発生した誤差もアートだとかなり楽しめる。


今回の作品はメンバー間での駆け引きがどんな風になるのか非常に楽しみだ。

The other day we gathered to do some brainstorming for putting together our new song/video


It's always crazy trying to communicate your ideas and your visual images out into the world.

That's what art is right?

sharing ideas and expressing them is easier when you've got tons of sample images posted in YouTube to compare with. All this multimedia tool around you is confusing sometimes but a blessing at times.

I never really know how the message I've relayed is understood by the person(s) I'm communicating to.

I guess that'll always be the case.

This discrepancy is always doe thing to be enjoyed when creating creative projects (which should be all projects in the world)

but it's too bad that many people perceive a small difference of interpretation as wrong

I guess there's too much room in art for that and makes people afraid

Hong Kong

I love Hong Kong. I love the energy of the city and the food. My some of my Hong Kong friends don't like Chinese food but I think it's unfortunate what their missing out on.

Today I me up with a good friend that came to visit Tokyo. He always makes time to check out our gigs when we have one when he's here. We were discussing today how cool it would be if we could get the Tsunagu event there!

The painting the music and the cultural aspects of the event would really blend with the melting pot like city of Hong Kong. We want to get Lo-Fi to colaborate with local musicians or artists.

I know the logistics are going to be real challenge but I also know that the impact well have on the art scene will also be rewarding and well worth the effort.

Can't wait to meet the creative minds of that city either.

TSUNAGU 02.23.2009

先日やっとフライヤーのデザインが仕上がったイベント TSUNAGU。

っていってもあんまり時間が当日まで無いのも事実。。。汗

２月２３日(月)に代々木にある Bogaloo というスペースをかりて開催するアートイベントが TSUNAGU。

２００９年には色々な会場で音楽とアートやダンス等をコラボレーションさせたイベントを開催していく

予定だけど、２月２３日のイベントはそれのキックオフイベントとなる。

やや音楽を主体にしたイベントには実際なるけど、平日だというテンションを踏まえて考えればベストなイベントプランかな。

当日のラインアップは結構ディープな感じで、

ペインターとしては Ayumi  と Kaori

音楽関係は    Lo-Fi, Words on Move, Tomo,  AOX5 というユニットが出場する。

ダンス出来るペインティングを是非楽しんでもらいたいな。
