Performing with a great singer and band!

Today was a really busy day from the moment I got up to now....

Was called out to Yokohama for some meeting in the morning so I was back in Yokohama a few hours after I left from the performance.

I just remembered the show on Saturday today looking at Facebook. Really happy I met the band that I played with that day! Had so much fun performing together! The singer Shibata Tomomi was also amazing!
Can't wait to play with everyone again soon!

Even when things are tough and your busy and all, the thought of making more great memories keeps you going

g'nite!

Good morning!

It's rare that I go for a drink with the band after shows. But yesterday was an exception.

It was almost like playing with Lo-Fi, with a really great atmosphere. Any band I'm part of I always hope to bring back something to Lo-Fi. My band is like a non-ending journey in music. But unfortunately most bands have a short life span. I hope we can keep this band going as long as possible too.
It's fun learning from each member as you grow as musicians too.

This last photo I posted is a photo I took on the way to the after party venue. The instrumental song off our new album Fortitude "Cubic Glass" was something I wrote when I was gazing at a glass wall like this. The was it effects like the light was really cool and I wanted to try to turn that feeling into a tune.

We're in the middle of the show right now and we've got a Michael Jackson medley coming up next....

Despite the funky weather we're having a great time!

Yesterday night's rehearsal!

(English below)

http://shibatatomomi.syncl.jp/

Yesterday I had a band rehearsal for a wedding gig!

It was still only our 2nd time meeting up as a band, but I really like the guys and we're having lot's of fun just playing together.

We need to perform a medley of Michael Jackson songs and we're also going to perform two songs with a really great singer!

http://shibatatomomi.syncl.jp/

Shibata Tomomi

she's a really great singer! I can't wait to perform with her again. I think she's doing a gig tonight too… but tonight I've already got plans and a lesson to teach so don't think I'll make it…..

It's great to have an opportunity to meet so many great musicians. It's strange to think about how so many are struggling to get by when you consider the crazy amount of time they put into perfecting their art and skills.

Anyway I gotta get ready for this afternoon's rehearsal too!

Random photo in the dressing room

I'm not particularly fond of putting photos of myself on blogs and whatnot but hey why not since it's always me writing this blog! Here's a random photo we shot in the dressing room at the Motion Blue.

Have no idea what Yosh is looking at... LOL

Below is Ao's set up for the show. He's brought his mac and a whole array of effects and sound modules for some of the more artsy stuff that we did on the set list.

We usually check into the venue after noon and set all this gear up. After we do the sound check with the sound crew we get into the rehearsal and time flies when your prepping for a show!

Will have more updates soon!

Motion Blueの写真！ Photos from Motion Blue!

Didn't get a chance to update my blog yesterday after the breakfast post... it was a busy day!
In the afternoon after a session with a rockband I went to meet up with Kat for a meeting! We've got a special gig planned for the spring....!

Here's 2 photos from Motion Blue!

This is me setting up the bass

This here is our saxaphonist, Yu!

Will upload more soon!
