曲を書くきっかけ。Inspiration for song writing.

昨日は結構遅い時間まで、ファッション関係の打ち合わせで、場違いな俺は自分の協力出来ることとか話をしてた。


分野が違っても共通する要素はどんなの仕事にもある。分野が違うからこそこの繋がりが見つかると楽しい。


最近は雨が続き、涼しくなってきた。この天気は好きだ。雨が多いとドイツを思い出す。


そういえば最近はシンガポールから仕事仲間が遊びに来て、なぜか日本国内でお土産を買って持ってきた。これはドイツ？では縁起がいいみたい。


よくわからないが、、、美味しいからなんでもいいでしょう。


先日撮った写真。


良く適当に写真を撮ることが多い。何か特別な意図も無く。

曲を書く時も似た流れで、特に深い意図が無く、急にメロディであったり、歌詞だったり、コードの雰囲気が見えてきたりする。後は最近は音色だけが頭になることが。

音ほど言葉で説明するのが無謀なことはないよね。笑

曲はどうやってかけるのかは、不明だ。でも、他の音楽の要素と共通していて、言語なんだと思う。

日記みたいなものかな。心が何かで動いた記録的な。人生で変化があったり、心境が変わると曲を書きたくなる。一つ自分の人生の中で起きていることの消化の方法なのかもしれない。

みんなも自分の表現方法を通じて色々な事を受け止められるといいな。

今日も一日頑張ろう。

Yesterday I was out with a group of "fashion" industry people in a meeting about a new business project. As most of my friends know I'm nothing close to a fashionista.

But even when genres of business are different I think there common values shared throughout different areas of art or... anything

I like finding connections between things that are at first unrelated. It's something that I feel when I'm inspired to do anything. I think I observe something outside of myself that affects how I feel. That moves me and my answer or response is creation.

I hope everyone finds their way to express and understand their own world.

今やっと家に着いて少しベランダでまったり。




ベランダに出てるこのロウソクの器は昔親からもらったもの。

今朝は友達のサロンの開店準備の様子をみに行き、なんかでしゃばってしまい、色々と手を出してしまった！




これは雨対策で、家具を載せる台を準備しようとしてる。このお店も準備が完成したらまた皆に報告したいと思います。

その後はGakuくんとのリハで、
営業にいったあとは少し家事でバタバタしたけど、夜は曲のアレンジのミーティングに。

いま一緒に仕事をしているシンガーが本当にいい感じのグルーヴの持ち主でバンドでもスタジオに入るのが楽しみだ。

言葉だけを使ってたけど一緒に色々と想像しながら、イメージを共有している作業も非常に楽しい。

人間はいかに頭の中にあるイメージが言葉として表現出来ていないか改めて感じさせられた。

もっと色々と勉強をしなきゃ。



帰りのバイクの移動も実は結構楽しいんだよね、、、、

Right now I'm taking some time to chill out on my balcony. Enjoying the gentle candle light reflected off a candle holder my parents gave me ages ago.

This morning I went out to help my friend who is opening a new salon. I was planning to just check out the progress on her project, but as I expected... I ended up moving stuff around and whatnot ... It was great fun and I'll most definitely introduce the salon when it's finished!

Here's some pictures of my preparing some wooden blocks for the furniture that we were moving.

Later I was at rehearsal and afterwards I was out promoting the new album.

I came back home for a bit to walk Jazz and went back out to do some song arrangements with a singer that I'm working with.

She's got a great groove to her songs and I'm really looking forward to this project moving forward soon.

I learn a lot working with other artists and preparing song arrangements not just by playing but by talking about the experience we are trying to create with each song.

I'm grateful to have so many learning experiences everyday!

I always love my bike ride home at the end of a long day...

リハーサル終了！ Finished with rehearsal and heading to lesson

今日はLo-Fiじゃないバンドのリハーサルがあったのだ。曲の練習というか、曲をアレンジしていく時間になっていて作曲に近くて楽しい。



バンドでスタジオに入るとLo-Fi以外に最近は積極的作曲も一緒に取り組むバンドは意外とない。

いつもThe Lo-Fiの作曲でスタジオにはいるときは、自分が全楽器を自分なりにプログラムしたり演奏して、参考音源を用意する事になる。

その後YoshやNoriが色々とアイディアを加えて、別な形に変化させてくれるのだ。まったく異なる時もあれば、たまには自分のアレンジがそのまま通る時も。

今回の新しい曲はスタジオでどうなるかな。


Today I just finished a rehearsal (not The Lo-Fi) and I'm heading to another lesson to teach.

It's great to be in the studio with a band that let's me take part in the arrangements and song writing process itself too!

I haven't done that for another band than Lo-Fi for a whole now. I'm looking forward to another season soon.

When we write songs with The Lo-Fi, I usually come it with a draft pre-production recording. This demo is like the concept design for the final work we make. Nori and Yosh take it apart from here. We kinda play it through a couple of times to get a feel for what each part of the song is doing. We might even play a song live a few times to get a feel for it.

Can't wait to alter these new songs I've written these past few days!

始まった！ And the journey finally stars

適当に出発した旅がやっと始まった。なにも準備してないくせに、今日は何時間も準備ばかりしてた気もする！
Finally started my long trip to nowhere! (at least no destination but south for the moment)

I spent too much time preparing nothing, but at least I'm in my way now!


こんな寒い日の日曜の夜だから、足柄のバイクの駐輪場には一台もバイクはいなかった。

really cold tonight when crossing the Hakone mountain area, so there were no other motorcycles in sight.



地図をみるとまだまだ東京出てすぐの伊豆の上あたりに到着。

思ったよりも山を登ったから寒くてはなみずも出てきた。

自分にしては珍しく今回はかなりの荷物を積んでしまってる。長く飛び出してるのは実は持ち運びようのギター。流石にベースは持ってこれなかったので、ギターで作曲予定。

it's rare I lug so much stuff around on a bike trip, but this time I've come out to write some songs.

曲を書くきっかけは本当に色々とあるけど、今回は目的地の特に決まっていないこのたびのなかで作ってみようかと。

inspiration for song writing comes from many places. This time I've decided to spend my trip thinking about music and concentrating on writing.


最近はモーションブルーのライブも終えたばかりだし。何か曲が生まれそうな気が凄くする。

Since we just finished a big show at the Motion Blue in Yokohama I think it's good timing to change things up a bit to get the creative juices flowing!
