凄いよかった！！！ Very cool film I saw today!

今日は朝起きて直ぐに映画館に向かった！




EnglandとIrelandの間にある小さい島で1900年ぐらいから開催している公道のコースを舞台にしたレースがIsle of Man Tourist Trophyのレース！
色々なカテゴリーがあるけど、ポイントは車のラリー見たいに一般道をサーキットで走行するようなスピードで走っていること！
もちろん車のラリーと全然違うのはバイクで走るからね。ロールケージも何も無いし。




今回はドキュメンタリーのスタイル的にガイをピックアップしてレースに挑む姿勢とかを紹介していてかなり面白かった。




youtubeでレース中継をバラバラと見ていたのとは全然違う形で見れて本当に良かった！バイク好きにはオススメ。
さて、今から次のライブのセットリストを作ったりリハーサルの予定を組み直さないと。

Went to see the Isle of Man TT documentary today... (of course on my bike) and man it was a fun film!

I'm sure most people have heard of the TT race but it's still not so widely known in Japan I feel. It's been around since 1900 and since it's a race done on normal public roads, the danger level is extremely high.

Not only the danger but the skill required to control the bike of the rough and bumpy roads is amazing. Also the demands on the bike in such harsh environments makes it a big challenge on the mechanic too.

I've always like rally racing so this is kind of like it... but a different dimension of racing!

this documentary was well made I feel.. but dunno if you love motorcycling it's all good! LOL

Wow cant wait to ride at the track again soon!

Hope to get some set list work done now.....

"雨の日に、、"また聞かれた！ Isn't it dangerous to ride in the rain?

(English below)

普段からも「バイクは危なく無いの？」と不思議な質問を聞かれる。

この質問をされてもちろん、全然気分は悪く無い！むしろ、嬉しい。バイクは雨の日が危ないと確信したいなら、明らかにバイクを危ないと思ってそうな人に聞けばいいだけだから。


バイクにただ興味があるのはいいこと！

統計を見ると、心臓病やガンによって死亡する人がかなり多い。スノボや階段を降りる事も怪我する可能性がある行為。全ての危険は避ける事ができないから、俺はよく思う。

「危険だからバイクに乗っているわけではないよ」

スノボとか、マウンテンバイクのダウンヒルとか、危険な事が好きな人と勘違いされがちだけど。

楽しいと思える何らかの自由が手にはいるスポーツや乗り物が好きなのかもしれない。

リスク回避で自分のしたい事を見逃すのは悲しいからね。

好きな事を末長く堪能できるようにリスクをコントロールするのは大切だけどね。

恐怖から「逃げる」生き方では無く、幸せを「追う」スタイルで生きたいな。

When ever I'm riding in the rain and come into a store or somewhere with my helmet in hand, people ask me "Isn't it dangerous to ride in the rain?"

I don't get frustrated or anything from this question mind you... it's actually a pleasing question since it reveals the questioner is interested in riding!

If you look at statistics cancer and heart disease is more likely to kill you. If your a rider sure you're more likely to die from riding. How you ride, your protection is the largest factor in the death statistic though from what I know.

Anyway what I want to say is that you don't do something because you know it's safe.

You do it because you love it.
If you don't know what you love? Go out there and find that something you love!

先日のモーターショーで見たもう一台気になったバイク！

めちゃ小さくてかわいいバイクだけど、友達と一緒にレースをしたら楽しそう。。。

クラッシュで数十万コースの心配は無いしね！

 

こんな感じでちゃんと倒れずに走れる理由はリアに入っているジャイロの関係らしい。

なんか不思議に大きなバイクみたいに動いてそれ自体が凄い面白かったな。

やっぱり子供の頃からおもちゃも凄い進化したね！

The other day at the motor show there was one more bike that really interested me was this mini-racer!

Amazing to see this thing go. It's got a gyroscope in the back wheel to keep it from falling over at slow speeds.

It's amazing to see how real it looks! You can race with your friends in your living room with no fear of paying thousands of dollars for each crash… LOL

It's amazing to think about how toys have evolved with the technology they use over these few years.

I remember when remote control cars were still really big machines!

東京モーターサイクルショー！ Tokyo Motorcycle Show!

今日は東京モーターサイクルサイクルショーにいった！！



色んなバイクが見れたり、トライアルバイクのパフォーマンスも最高！



Today I went to visit the Tokyo Motorcycle show! Some great weather and I had a great time at all the booths! Met a lot of people that I know from the bike shops in Tokyo too!

リハーサル連チャン。One rehearsal after another

今日はバイクでリハーサルへ移動。朝は翻訳の仕事とWebの仕事もあってなんかバタバタしてたけど、やっと音楽に集中できる！


ベースとパソコンもこんな風にリハーサルに今日は運んでました。

いやーしかも、何故かヘルメットを脱いだときに筋肉を怪我したかも！くだらないけと、
メチャクチャいたい！！！！

よし、引き続き頑張るぞ！
夜はまたJAZZと散歩。



This is how I carry my gear around when on my motorcycle. The heavy stuff like my computer and iPad I try to keep in the tank bag (kreiga) and I have the bass in my back.

For some reason i hurt a neck muscle when I took my helmet off... it hurts like hell....!

Oh well one more rehearsal to go and I'll be on my way home to go for a walk with Jazz!

今日の午後。The afternoon

今日は午後、友達と五反田で待ち合わせで一緒に色々ミニバイクについて熱いトークをした。


向かう途中の道に中央分離帯の電気が破壊されているのを発見。


どんな運転をしたらこんな事にいったいなるんだろう、、、





その先には凄い体に悪そうな、ラーメン。いや、ラーメンは結局全部体に悪そうな。。

良く通るこの道だけど、絶対入らない気がする店だ。





結局友達とはクァアイナのバーガーを食べて、ラーメンよりも不健康な可能性が、、、

無事に家に戻って、いまからまたリハーサルの準備だな。
夜のリハーサルはかなり楽しみ！

今日のリハーサルは四月26日のライブに向けてのリハーサル。

代官山のループでライブをやるのは始めてだな。どんなライブになるんだろう。曲のセットリストも固めなきゃ！


Today I had lunch with a really good friend that I started riding motorcycles with! We met up at lunch for a burger.

Really unhealthy stuff, I tell my self I won't eat... LOL
funny I say that as I swear I won't go into some restaurants near my home like this pictured in my blog post.

On my ride to Gotanda there was this road division lamp that was slaughtered by a vehicle crashing into it. ... have no idea how this could ever happen.

Anyway back in the studio again for prepping for the rehearsal tonight!

We're rehearsing for a big show coming up on the 26th of April! Can't wait for this special show!

It's our first time playing the Daikanyama Loop.

雨の思い出 Memories from a rainy day....

今日は朝起きて雨。

 

なんだか最近は雨が降ると良く思い出す

 

２月にツーリングでいった直島の旅で走った道を思いだす

 

あの旅は本当に雨や雪等、結構悪天候だったわりにはとても楽しかった旅。

 

同じ雨が自分が遠い場所で走ってきた道では降っているのかなぁ？とか

ここは雨でも自分が前に休憩したあのフェリー乗とかはどんな天気なのかなぁ、、と

時間を作ってまた旅に出て行きたいなと思う。

最近自分が一緒に何週間が生活したJazzも今週末でまたしばらくは離ればなれになるしね。

雨は全体的に景色の光の当り方が変わって結構すきだけど、なんかノスタルジックな気持ちにも同時になる。
もしかしたら自分の子供の頃にいた場所の天候を思い出すからなのかも知れないな。 

子供の頃は雨があんまり好きじゃなかったな。でも、昔から止まっている車の天井に当る雨の音は好きだった。

今は雨は凄く落ち着く

 

 

もちろん天気のいい日も最高だけどね！

今日はこれから天気よくなりそうだな。

天気はどうあれ、楽しい一日になりますように。

一日ミーティングざんまい A full day of meetings

今日の朝はなかなか起きないJAZZ。昨日の散歩で疲れたのかな？

朝はバンドメンバーと打合せをして、

その後はカフェに少し入ってスカイプでミーティング。

もちろん今日もバイクでの移動。駐車場代が殆どかからないのがいいね。

駐車場にいれなくてもオッケーな場所も結構多いしね。

バンドリハーサルの時は少し楽器もちにくくてバイクは微妙だけど。

今日はこんな渋い走りやバイクとも出会う機会があった。

ヨシムラのexhaustが渋い！

今日の朝に少し作業していた譜面とまた夜は向き合う事になるか。

あ！そういえば、今日は大事なライブを見に行かないと。。。。！

後で紹介します、、、！

 

 

Jazz didn't get up quickly today… maybe she's tired from walking a lot yesterday?

Today was a whole morning of meetings. Had one online meeting as well.

Saw a pretty cool, old school motorcycle parked near mine too.

It's really cheap to ride around the city in Tokyo compared to traveling by car.

Especially the parking. Most times it's free parking, but sometimes in crowded areas the citizens on patrol for parking violations will write a ticket…..

Later tonight I've got a show to attend and some music to rewrite for a rehearsal later this week!

ステップ調整 Adjusting rear sets for the 1098

先日バイクのセッティングを色々といじるタイミングがあった。

サスペンションのセッティングについて色々と説明会で話を聞いてから、敏感になって色々設定を変えてみている。

走りながらもう一つ気になっているのは足の置く場所。ここのポジションによって乗り心地やコントロールできる感じが全然違う！

でも一番大きいのは足の裏へのグリップ間や、ヒールガードの固さによる足の固定感かな。

Had some time the other day to change the settings on my bike. After attending the suspension seminar http://www.carrozzeriajapan.co.jp/unoperuno/susclass/index.html I'm paying more attention to how the bike handles. So I've been fiddling with the settings to find something comfortable for the local inner city streets.

Likewise I've been changing the foot positions on my ride. I still haven't found something perfect but close enough.

Having these foot pegs / rear sets are really great since they grip your feet so much better than the stock ones, making it much easier to control the bike and also to ride safely of course!



のってみてどんな感じなのかなんども確認しながら。。。後はたまには自分の写真ものせてみようと思い、便利なこんなのを柱にくっつけてみた。



Though it might be a good idea once in a while to take photos of myself too huh… this is the tripod I use. Attached to a water pipe in the garage
