退院しました。Released from the hospital

なかなか今までこんなにブログを更新しない事は無かったからファンや友達からたくさんの連絡を頂きまして大変心配をかけてしまいましてごめんなさい！

数日前に交通事故にあって、病院に入院していました。連絡も付かないなか多くの方にも心配やご迷惑をおかけまして、申し訳ございませんでした。

たくさんの人に良くしてもらい、助けてもらい、命を落とさずに済んだと感じていて感謝し切れません。

昨日の夕方に退院して、今は家で回復や治療に専念してます。怪我としては神経関係のダメージは幸い一切ありません。体は擦り傷などが色々とありますが、プロテクターを全身にまとっていたので、骨がかけるタイプの背骨の骨折ですみました。

色々とスケジュールにも無理をしていたのかと今は反省してます。人生も色々と見直さないと。

当初のアレンジは色々と異なるかと思いますが、出演予定なども状況によってはキャンセルになる場合もありますが、必ずフォローいたします！

It's my first time not updating my blog for so long and I'm sorry I had so many people worried about what's been going on.

I was in a traffic accident on the Tokyo metropolitain expressway on the 16th and have been in te hospital since.

Finally got out yesterday night and am recovering at home.

I've broken (chipped?) two vertebrae and road rash in multiple places, and no nerve damage. Thanks to my body armor...

I must admit maybe I was pushing myself to work a schedule that was just too hard.

I have a lot of thinking to do.

Arrangements may change and some shows and appearances may get cancelled but will do my best!

さっき撮影が終了した。

今日は代官山のループでSHUとMEYOUさんと（JEMSTONE）のメンバーと一緒にライブの告知用の映像を撮影。

４月２６日のライブは代官山ループで主催いたします。今回のライブのテーマはLife=Loveという熱いテーマで楽しみ！

人生は本当に愛という大きなテーマでくくると一瞬単純思考すぎるように思う人もいるかも知れないけど、

色々な世の中で起きている災害から戦争やら隕石の墜落や人類が始まった切っ掛けとか、全て理由等も何も無く、ただ起きている事が多い。全てに意味が無いと感じしてしまう事もあるだろうけど、意味がある無いとは別な場所で人とのつながりや自分が大切に思う何かが人生を豊にしていると考えている。

そんなこんなで撮影を無事終って、こんな家の近くでも９８で茂木で練習したトレールブレイキング（リア）を練習しながら移動。本当にバイクは楽しい。もっと多くの人にバイクの楽しさを感じて欲しい！

今を思いっきり生きている気持ちに慣れて、音楽もバイクも世界も最高。

Finished with the shoot in Daikanyama for a promo vid we're making for the April 26 show.

We did the shoot with Shu and Meyou from Jemstone. They're both really cool musicians and I'm really looking forward to performing with them in April. She has a  theme for this event we're doing called "Live=Love". It seems a little superficial at first but if you think about it, nothing in this world really "means" anything. We just add value to things that happen or people say because of these emotions or feeling we have for certain things. Anyway, today was great for riding!

Today I've been moving around on the 1098 again, even though Daikanyama isn't really that far away from where I live. I've been working on that trail-braking technique since Motegi. The rear brake is really hard to use if your not careful.

Now I better get ready for tonight's rehearsal with Lo-Fi!

MOTEGIサーキット走行。 Track day at the Motegi race track

昨日は友達と一緒にMotegiでサーキット走行にまた挑戦！

今回は自分のダボダボの革じゃなくて、先輩から譲ってもらったちゃんとしたスーツでめちゃくちゃ走りやすかった。

Motegiのサーキットはスピード凄い早くて慣れないなぁ、と思いながら先生のアドバイスを聞きながらサーキットのラインを聞く事ができた。

 

今日は今からバンドのある撮影に行ってきます！

Yesterday I went out to the Motegi race track with a friend from the Gaijin rider's club and I had a great day off.

I finally got a really leather suit for an unbelievable price from a colleague that didn't need it anymore. It's definitely much better than the baggy leathers that I had before…!

I'm about to leave for a photo and filming shoot with my band. 
Will update you guys on details with that soon! 

伊豆、半日ツーリング！ Touring in Izu!

先日、外国人ライダーズクラブの仲間と一緒に伊豆へ行きました！

The other day I went riding with a friend from the Gaijin Riders Club page on FB

We took a route from the Tomei to Atsugi exp way -> Toyo turn pike -> Izu skyline

海老名で俺もトイレに行くときに前の人がダッシュするのをみて、「その気持ちわかる！わかる！」と思って思わず写真を撮ってしまった。
Saw a dude rush into the bathroom. I had to snap a shot, not to make fun of him or anything.. but we all know how that feels right!?

平日だったけど、それなりに交通量はあった。

日曜日まで桜祭りみたいなのを下田でやっているそうで、、、

半日しか時間は無かったけど、かなり景色も綺麗で気持ちよかった。


Heard that they are doing a Sakura festival until Sunday!

ステップ調整 Adjusting rear sets for the 1098

先日バイクのセッティングを色々といじるタイミングがあった。

サスペンションのセッティングについて色々と説明会で話を聞いてから、敏感になって色々設定を変えてみている。

走りながらもう一つ気になっているのは足の置く場所。ここのポジションによって乗り心地やコントロールできる感じが全然違う！

でも一番大きいのは足の裏へのグリップ間や、ヒールガードの固さによる足の固定感かな。

Had some time the other day to change the settings on my bike. After attending the suspension seminar http://www.carrozzeriajapan.co.jp/unoperuno/susclass/index.html I'm paying more attention to how the bike handles. So I've been fiddling with the settings to find something comfortable for the local inner city streets.

Likewise I've been changing the foot positions on my ride. I still haven't found something perfect but close enough.

Having these foot pegs / rear sets are really great since they grip your feet so much better than the stock ones, making it much easier to control the bike and also to ride safely of course!

レッスンが終了して、これから打合せに向かうところ！

このまえ仕事で出ているときに給油した時の写真：

バイクのりの皆はどうやって給油しているのかな？日本は有人で給油する所がまだ多いし、自分は実はバイクから降りない事が多い。支払いの財布へのアクセスさえできれば、そのまま座っている方がタンクが満タンになるからと思って。

本当はそんなに差はないのかな？

たまに、バイクの後ろにつけている鞄に財布が入っている時は降りて給油も。

昔俺が教習所にいってた頃、教官の方にこんな感じのどうしょうもない事を沢山聞いたな。

「どんな事故をした事があるのか、、、」とか「今乗っているバイクは？」とか色々とプライベートの質問も沢山きいた。

この写真に写っているのが日の丸自動車の教習所。
バイクの免許を考えている人はここが都内のアクセスがよくておすすめです！

最近は教官が少なくて前程申し込みからスムーズにとれるか分からないけど、自分が前に行ってた頃は非常に親切で女性の教官もいたので、どんなライダーもサポートできるというイメージがありました。

今からの打合せはバンドの今後の予定と、、、、うーん。難しい話も！笑

 

楽しいリハーサルが楽しみだ。

 

 

Finished teaching and now off to a meeting with my band manager…..
We've got a serious!! meeting planned. I hope I don't get too tired for the rehearsal I'm looking forward to afterwards.

 

Anyway, which type of rider are you? When you refuel do you get off the bike to leave room for the service staff to do it or do you stay on the bike? In Japan it's common to have fueling staff refuel your ride for you.

I like to stay on the bike so that it can be filled all the way, than when it's on the side-stand. (I know it's only a minuscule difference)

As long as you have access to your credit card, it's faster too to stay on the seat than get off and on.

 

I remember asking all these kinds of questions to my instructor when I got my motorcycle license a while back.
I bombarded them with private questions too like "What was your most recent accident?" "What kind of motorcycle do you ride?" just because I was so eager to learn more about motorcycles and riding.

Anyway my recommendation for getting a license in Japan is the Hinomaru-driving school near Meguro and Ebisu.

I don't think that they can teach in English, but they have good staff is Japanese is not a problem for you!

Today I went out to meet a good friend! The Panigale S he rides was awesome!!!
We both have a 46 Rossi helmet.
It was really awesome to talk to him again today. Maybe we'll have a chance to do some kind of motorcycle related interesting project soon.

I can wait to riding in the mountains with him soon!

Now to get ready for tomorrow's rehearsal.

今日は仕事先に到着してパーキングすると、気に入っている番号を発見！

今年はヤマハに移ってRossiの活躍は本当に楽しみだ。

今年の色々と面白い事が多くて楽しみなレースが沢山だけど、、、何故がDucatiがMotoGPから抜ける変な噂も耳している。そんな事はあり得ないだろ！と思ったり。

今日は仕事間の移動中に不意にもリアが完全に浮いてしまう程、急ブレーキを掛ける場面があって、正直ちょっとビックリした。

前の道を横断するタクシーが信号無視で通った時に歩行者が歩いていて交差点のど真ん中で急停止して、自分がその内路を直角に通ろうとしたらスクーターが自分の左を抜けようとして、その更に左からヴァンがおいかぶさってサンドウィッチ状態になりそうだった。一瞬の判断で自分しか急停車できないと思ってスクーターのスペースを作って、前から来る交通に向かった逆そう状態となるヴァンは思いっきり寄せてくるからミラーがヴァンに軽く当った。

今日はたまたまスーパーブレーキ力のスーパーバイクでの移動で良かったものの、これがモンスターだったらブレーキが間に合ったのか、、、？！と少し不安に。スクーターを一緒にヴァンの下敷きになったら最悪だ。バイク同士のハンドルが絡むような事故は本当に絶対避けたいクラッシュの種類だ。

なんか急にRIZOMAのレヴァーガードをゲットしたくなった。これが一応（気持ち程度に）外側からブレーキやクラッチレバーに物が当るのを防ぐハンドルの端につけるパーツ。

こんな感じのパーツです： 

って、怖い話をすみません。でも何もなくて本当に良かった！

怖い事も毎日道路にでていると沢山あるけど、一つ一つ真面目に受け止めて次の事故を回避するための経験値にしたいと思う。

安全運転は本当に意識を常に道路での安全に向ける事が非常に重要だと思う。

さて、今夜は曲のアレンジをしてみて、ライブの準備をするか！

 

Today I arrived at work to find my lucky parking space open! LOL

I have no idea if they're true but I've heard rumors that Ducati might pull out of MOTOGP? I can't imagine that happening...

Anyway today I had a pretty crazy incident during my commute.
I was trying to get around a taxi that ran a red light into the intersection… but the taxi slammed the brakes because it was about to run over a pedestrian… blocking the entire intersection.

I braked at the last moment as a scooter who was aiming for the exact same space behind the taxi almost swerved into me as another van tried to get through the exact same space. The van was going head on into oncoming traffic in the opposite lane so right after I let the scooter pass the van hit my right mirror as it pushed me toward the taxi. When I braked for the scooter my rear wheel was in the air...

It freaks me out to think of different circumstances where I might have been on another bike like my Monster. Maybe the braking wouldn't have been quick enough and I might have locked handlebars with the scooter that tried to pass me and I might have ended up under that van who was trying to pass the scooter…..

That made me consider I might be interested in checking out the rizoma bar ends that help out from accidental brake lock due to locking handle bars with other bikes.

 

Anyway staying focused on safe riding and safe passage through traffic is really important. I hope this experience helps me get through other dangerous ones I might encounter in the future.

Anyway, on my way home to teach another lesson and get on to arranging some songs!

ついにリリース！ Our new music video is online!

これです！ The Lo-Fi の最新アルバム Fortitude から Departure という曲のミュージックビデオをアップロードしました！長い時間がかかったけど、なんとか曲のイメージを映像にできました。今回は待望の日本語訳もついています！！！

Here it is! The Lo-Fi's new music video for the song "Departure" from our new album Fortitude.
It was a long time coming but I think we were able to put together a picture that goes well with the lyrics.


撮影は懐かしいかったな、、、カメラマンとスタッフがこの写真は写っています。
中央にあるのは手作りのクレーン！カメラマンはすごい！まだ彼のサイトは無いみたいだけど、完成したらまた紹介します。

早朝の江ノ島で撮影をした時もなんども同じルートを通りながらカットをしていました。

本当に寝不足のなか皆すごい頑張ってくれて感謝しきれません。

実は今回の撮影を色々している直前には大雪で、、、果たして撮影できるのかとみんなで話していました。しかし、今回は氷を上手く避けながら頑張って撮影しました。

雪以外にも実は裏ではトラブルがありました、、、この赤いバイクはDucatiの1098Sというモデルですが、、、欠陥が色々多いのです。今回は直前にラジエターが割れてしまい、交換が本当に本当にギリギリでした！

撮影チームと二台ともバイクは頑張ってくれました！

These few photos are a photos from the shoot itself! We had our cameraman build a homemade crane for some of the shots and we all got up at like 2AM to get to the shoot location. It was only a few days after the big snow storm in Tokyo so we had to keep as much of the snow as possible out of the frame...! Also was a big challenge dodging the ice patches while doing the riding.
