面白いメンバーで今度ライブはやるから、これから新しいサウンド作り込むために今日はひたすらセッションをやりこんで見た。
新しい仲間と音楽でお互いの事をしれると本当に楽しい。
音楽を介して会話をするとセッションはミーティングとかよりも何百倍も気持ちが伝わる。
もちろん厳密な事、例えば「1991年にアメリカのノースカロライナ州でAtariのゲームシステムを電圧の問題で壊したら$250ドルの修理代がかかった」などは音楽の音だけでは伝えられない。
でも悲しい気持ちの中に少し希望も持っている心境であることは原因とかを共有しなくても音を通じてなんとなくつたわる。
この曖昧さにある隙間の解釈の自由とかは厳密な意味と説明をすべてに求めるきゅうくつな時代にはとても大切にしている。
いまカフェでコーヒーを飲みながらリセットをして、午後の仕事に備える。
Had great rehearsal today!
We jammed with a new keyboardist that we plan to play with soon.
It's great to communicate with music. of course there are limits to things that music can and can't communicate. For example details like numbers, years and specific/special nouns can't be expressed solely with sound.
But a sad feeling or a dramatic emotional concept can be expressed without any story telling to create the dramatic mental effect of emotions moving...
I can't wait to jam with more people again soon!
People are always looking for exact explanations and speed and accuracy but the "space" music leaves for interpretation and imagination is really liberating. I love this form of art.
Right now I'm reflecting on today's rehearsal while enjoying a good caffeine fix
