仙台に到着 Arrival @ Sendai Apple Store

Although we had some rough winds on our way here we made it to the Sendai Apple Store in one piece!

It seems like we ended up following the typhoon when we came here.

仙台に昨日到着！いやー凄い風でまちゃくちゃ怖かった。
さすがにこっちまで来ると風がどんどん強くなってくるね。

いまから仙台APPLE STOREでインストアのライブをして仙台エリアを
冒険！このエリアでどこでライブをやったりするのがベストなのか？

Well we're in the back of the Apple Store right now waiting for setup time.

I hope we get some new people in the store with our sound.

Later we're looking to see some clubs and music spots in town to see where we

might want to play next time we come down to this area.

We received a call yesterday from an old friend in the Kawaguchi area to ask us if we

wanted to play his new restaurant in Kawaguchi. Check below for info on the place.

Lo-Fi アルバム販売とか

１０月２８日に Lo-Fiの新しいアルバムStereo Soulは発売される。

今のスケジュールだと全国のCD店舗で並ぶ予定なのは１１月１８日になる。

色々と準備が思った以上に大変だけど、

この先の展開も何をしないと行けない のかも明確に

なっているから取りあえずは一歩ずつ前に進んでいる感じ。 先日のVeloursのライブも非常に楽しいステージができて

またPhonikaのメンバー達と交流もできて今後色々な熱いイベントで協力 できたらなぁーと思っている。

写真もこの前のライブのが少し出て来たからちょっと掲載してみた。

最近は色々な人にあったり、アルバムの発売の情報を人に伝えていて、

レコーディングしていた頃に比べると非常に社交ていになっているのかな？

９月３０日に発売される Wax PoeticsにはLo-Fiのペインター Ayumiがペイントしたイメージの絵が新アルバムのプロモーションで掲載されています。是非チェックしてみてね。

Wax PoeticsもSoul/Jazz/Funk/Hiphopが好きな人には本当におすすめの雑誌です。

マニアな自分は凄い読んでて楽しいです。

今月号はカバーがジャクソンで、今まで見ていない感じの写真も凄い沢山のっている！

MJは今になって知った事も正直俺は多いかも知れない。

確か昔, Kurt Cobainも死んだ時も同じ感じで、

彼が死んでからもっと明らかになった彼のストーリも沢山あったからね。

まぁ、本人がいないと何が本当でそうじゃないかなんかわからんからね。

まぁ、とにかく１１月末に発売される号のWaxではLo-Fiの２ページのインタビュー記事も掲載されるので、自分の音楽とか制作過程について少し明かしているどうでもいい話を見てみてください。

Lo-Fiの音を聴いた時にもっと理解がしやすくなるかもしれません。

決して元々難しくは作っているつもりは全然ないけどね。

来月号は誰がカバーになるのかなぁ。。。楽しみだ。

毎日新しいチャレンジが待っているから凄い楽しいけど、

自分のペースで働く生活は何も休憩が無い状況が発生しやすいから体調には 気をつけないと行けないね。

いつも俺は人には体調だけは壊さない様に！

といっているが、自分自身気をつけていかないと！

これから色々なCD店舗で何か面白いプロモーションができないか、

何かペインティングやらコラボレーションで熱い事ができないか

ガンガンアプローチしながら展開するから何かイベントが誕生する気が 凄いする。

最近正式に大阪のライブも決まりそうな気配で、、、１２月頃に一週間程何店かレストラン、お店とクラブでライブができそう。また新しい情報が見えたら ブログやサイトに載せないと！

Lo-Fi played at the Kazoo event in Velours and had a great time. Despite the rain and the cold and the fact that it was a wednesday, we are grateful to have so many people come to see our show! Sorry we started later than scheduled! And thank you for enjoying the show!

今日はKazoo event @ Veloursはかなり楽しかった！久しぶりのライブでのセッションもあのメンバーだと自由にプレーができるし凄いLIVEで刺激も受けれた！

更に、雨や寒さ、平日にも負けずにみに来てくれたバンドのサポーターと仲間は心から感謝です。スタートが遅れてしまって本当にすみませんでした！色々バタバタのなかで帰りの挨拶も出来なかった人がいて残念でしたが、新しい友達も出来てメチャクチャ嬉しい。

来週の仙台でやるLIVEもメチャクチャ楽しみだな！何故かいろんな事好きだと、can never get enough!

Lo-Fi...wassup

It's been a while again since my last post! A news update on Lo-Fi's current situation.

前回の更新からまた結構時間が経ってしまったが、最新ニュースLo-Fiについて！

We've finished doing the recording and mixing for the Lo-Fi Album Stereo Soul last week.

We spent a lot of time doing the initial recording and re-recording so that made the mixing

pretty smooth. There was almost no editing to do, but we added

some ambiance sound effects

at the beginning of some of the tracks. When you hear the album you'll know what trax these

are!

先週やっとアルバムのレコーディングが完了した！

After the recording process and mixing, we went to visit the Saidera Mastering studio in Tokyo, Japan.　レコーディングとミックスが終わってから サイデラ・マスタリングに行った。

Now this was a really special experience...!

One of our close friends and mentor Ao introduced us to the studio a long time ago when we were first recording our 1st mini-album. But we didn't have the resources at the time to master the album at Saidera so we ended up doing at a conventional indie mastering studio.

The experience of the mastering itself this time really changed the way I hear the mix. I went home and had to rearrange my monitoring set-up thanks to this experience! I honestly can't wait to get started on mixing our next album as well.

マスタリングスタジオでの経験は本当に特別で、自分の感覚が全て良い方向に変わって、マスタリング作業が終わったら直ぐに家に帰ってスピーカー設置を始めとするモニター環境を大幅に変えた！

Morisaki-san, wow... now he was an awesome guy. He really knew the sound we were after and was able to nail it so quick, the process was smooth. Kind of like watching a show.

今回の担当のモリサキさんは最高だった。自分達が求めているサウンドを直ぐにマッチしてくれて、本当にショーを見ている気持ちで楽しかった。

Nori checking out the piano that Ono-san uses in his recordings. The photos that were displayed there were pretty cool. ... you know what? I love photography.

Anyway, also seen in the picture is Matthew who helped out with some of the rewiring for the /D converters.

What is wrong with this guy? I swear Yosh just does not like getting photographed...

anyway.. the studio was really great and anyone who is looking to get their music mastered, this is the place to go.

Wow... we're really finished making the album!! I still can't believe it. I mean it seemed like such an endless project with so many things still not finished.... Boy do I have some stories to tell... It was hard work, but I can't wait to do it again. I guess for a while now I'm going to be busy with Nori and Yosh promoting the album. We hope to get it available everywhere!

I'm a big fan of iTunes, but still I want as many people as possible to be able to get their hands on the CD, just because it sounds so much better.

With iTunes you can get new albums at 4AM in your underwear. (which I think is a great privilege. You'd definitely get arrested if you did that at your local Best Buy ) But sound quality is always a compromise. The best part of some music is the quality of the sound. If I compare the sound environment to interior design, it's almost like the room becomes smaller in a compressed media format. Well... I guess more about that kind of stuff some other time.

後少しでアルバムが手元に届く！楽しみでしょうがない!

We spent a lot of time picking out the right album jacket design and case material too.

I think since people are going to pick it up and touch it, the values that we express in our sound should also be portrayed in the package. Don't get me wrong I am not a fan of over-packaging which happens too much here in Japan. I mean, I understand that the producer of the product means well, but it's just not right considering that we're creating more trash. If you have a lot of left over boxes and cases, they do make good storage for studio miscellaneous plugs, short cables and screws that you have stuffed into a drawer....

今回のアルバムはケースもこだわっているので楽しみにしていて！

2009.10.28 release dateまで後１月以上もあるなぁ。。。

久しぶりのブログ

最近はレコーディングとかアルバム発売の準備でバタバタしているが、

疲れもたまって来ているから少し今週末はペースを落として作業中。

今やっている事は色々あるけど、一番面白い話を並べると

１）tomo the tomo の曲のアレンジ

２）Lo-FI のミックス

３）新曲のアレンジ

４）ゲストMCとしてのトラックレコーディング

という感じかな。

後は結構後回しになってしまっている仕事もいくつかある。

いやー本当は結構かっこいいT-shirtデザインもできているから

それのプロジェクトもすすめたいんだけどね。

ちなみに、前にも少し紹介したけど tomo the tomoはTSUNAGUのイベントでLo-Fiと一緒にバンドをやったり、対バンとしても出演したアーティストです。

レコーディングが始まるのを凄い楽しみだ。

出来たら色々友達にも紹介したい。

Lo-Fiのミックスは新しいアルバム「Stereo Soul」のミックスだ。

結構面白いぐらい早いペースで仕上がっているのがいいね。

前は実は録り直しばかり繰り返していたけど、

やっと今のメンバーのバランスでグルーヴが固まった気がする。

自分がベースに切り替わったのがきっと一つの切っ掛けだったのかも知れん。

今は１０月２８日に発売をする予定で計画は進めている。

色々パッケージの事も、流通も色々あるけど、音楽をミックスしたり、

録っている時は本当に楽しい気持ちばっかりだよね。

色んな人に聞いてもらう事も楽しみにしている。

今回の作品で感想とかが集まれば、３作目にも反映できるしね。

この３作目のアルバムも曲は半分ぐらいはできているが、まだレコーディングは着手していないんだ。 いつ準備できつかも不明。

先月友達に頼まれて新しい歌詞を久しぶりに書いたっきり、

レコーディングが遅れているプロジェクトも一つある。

これはまた俺が凄い楽しみにしているギタリストのアルバムだ。

発売の予定や販売について何もまだ詳細は知らされていないけど、

俺の音がいい加減録り終われば。。。！

歌詞のリズムが好きじゃない部分があって、曲に入れてみたらなんか違和感があって、

まだ調整している。

実は別のシンガー向けに曲も今は提供する為に書いたが、

彼女に歌ってもらえていない曲も２曲程ある。

アレンジが出来ていないが曲の雰囲気と流れはできている。

この曲が切っ掛けで凄い自分はElectro Harmonixのmicro synthが欲しくなってしまった。

まぁ、普通にベースの音をLogicに入れてから編集すれば良い話だけどね。

サブプロジェクトで色々またイベント企画なども順調に進んではいるが、

混乱するぐらいデスクトップ上にファイルがでているのをなんとかしなきゃ。

「書類」フォルダー内も凄い事になっていて、

取りあえず分けてしまったuntitledフォルダーが１１個もある。

いやー昔の仕事仲間に見られたらすげー怒られそう。

すっかり天気も変わって夏が終わった事をまだ受け入れられていない自分だけど、

どこかで休みでも取りたいと検討中。

心がリラックスできる切り替えを精神的にこなさないといけないんだろう。 。。。瞑想だ！ 脳みその「PRAM/NVRAMリセット」、、、うーん、「再起動」？ いや、ブラウザーの「キャッシュのクリア」か？いいたとえが解らんが、 どのたとえもA-boyっぽいね。 もっとスピリチャルな方向から言うと地球や宇宙の呼吸と同期を取る必要がある。。。。という感じだ。 みんなはどういうリセットをしてるんだろう？

速報！News update!!!

Lo-Fi 新アルバム「Stereo Soul」が、10月28日に発売されます！今回は皆んなに知らせる為のアートワーク等も特別に作っています。

ソウルフルで感情が溢れ出てくるようなタッチのあるペインター AYUMIがデザインしたイメージを今度公開します。彼女は阪急のショーウィンドウ内で最近実施したのでも注目を更に集めていて、要チェックです！


今回のALBUMのテーマでは色んなLo-Fiの持っているグルーヴを収録しているので前作を確実に上回るインパクトがあると思もってます。

まだまだ最終準備はたくさん有りますが、長い沈黙からやっと出て来た気がします。
