先日リリースしたLo-FiのカバーアルバムがiTunesでも購入ができるようになりました。Stereo Soul (Lo-Fiのファーストアルバム)ももちろんitunesから購入ができます。残念ながらまだ海外からは購入ができません。

Norah Jones, Jamiroquai, Michael Jackson, James Morrison, James Blunt, Desree, Roberta Flack, Bruno Mars, Cindi Lauper, Stevie Wonder, Delfonics, Bob Marleyとかなり広い種類のアーティストをカバーしました。

今回カバーアルバムはただのコンピっぽいアレンジアルバムではありません！

Lo-Fiにしかできない本当にいい感じのアルバムになったとかんじてます！
もちろん直接Lo-Fiからもアルバムは購入ができます。

We have some great news!
1st and most importantly we want to let everyone know that the Lo-Fi original album is basically finished!
It'll be out before summer.
Next we wanted to tell you about a special album that we've recorded while we were recording the new original album.
It's called Jazzy Grooves on sale from Genkideru Records in Japan and will be available on sale on CD an on iTunes from April 18th.
This was a project that we've been talking about for a long time but never materialized until now! We've covered songs like "Don't Know Why", "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie, "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars... 12 songs from many international artists.
Of course we've put an interesting Lo-Fi style twist on most of these songs! We had some really great discussions on how we were going to present these songs from our perspective and interpretations. In the end we just went in the studio and jammed on the songs until they sounded like our songs... almost!

New Album 新しいアルバム

Happy 2012 everyone!
Yes, once again it's been a few eons since we've made our last post.
But we have some great news. Our new Lo-Fi album is almost finished with only two more band recording days to go.
We going to get into some mixing after that and hopefully have the album out in the spring.
The beginning of the year has been pretty busy with us also recording a cover album project brought to us by a friend at a music agency in Tokyo.
We did two shows, one at the Star Lounge in Shibuya and another out in Yokohama at our favorite American/Mexican restaurant "The Road and The Sky".
Our new album should have about ten to twelve songs on it depending on what songs are cut. Well I sure wouldn't want to cut any songs at the moment but I guess we'll have some extensive meetings to make our final decisions.
Sure there are some delays with the art work and printing, but one thing we're confident about is the sound.
Live recording is getting more and more obsolete with so much tech at everyone's dispense, but we made sure we made recordings that were as "live" as possible but at the same time creative enough for lots of repeated listens.
Hopefully some people will like the album as much as we do. Will do our best to get it out with the best quality possible!

なんだか最近はバタバタしていて本当にブログの更新ができていなかった！
1/10は渋谷の Star Loungeでかなや楽しいライブができ、その後は飯が生き返る程美味しい The Road and The Skyでライブを1/22にした。どのライブも特別な企画として決まる事になり、かなり新しい曲を披露した。
やっとレコーディングのスケジュールも順調にすすみ、最後のバンド録りを明日明後日で仕上げる予定。いろんな人といろんな出会いがあって、生まれてくる曲がまたライブでも磨かれ、ついにアルバムになるとおもうと本当に結果が楽しみだ。
なんたかんだで前回のリリースから2年もたってしまったからね。今年こそが新しいスタートをきるタイミングだと感じている。
アルバムは10曲を予定しているが、増える可能性もまだある。
しかし、アルバム名などは全然決まっていないんだよね。
前回のアルバムとはかなり感じが変わり、なんだかライブで身につけてきたエネルギーを注ぎ込んだロックの要素もたくさん入っていると感じている。
アルバムデザインも予定より相変わらず遅れてるけど、
肝心な音楽はかなり順調にすすんでいる。
また正式なリリース日などが見えたらご報告します。

Forest Jam Grande 2011

Lo-Fi was part of The Forest Jam Grande event in Chiba Japan this year too! It was a really great atmosphere and we had fun playing with David again who dropped by from Hong Kong to do this show with us.

Lo-Fiは今年も千葉でのイベント「Forest Jam Grande」に参加しました！
天気も良くとても清々しい空気で、そして香港から再びDavidがこのショーの為に来てくれ、一緒に演奏を楽しみました。


We event got to see the stray goat that ended up becoming the mascot for the whole event.

会場内で迷い山羊に出会ったが、この山羊はある日突然この山の中に現れたそうで、遂にイベントのマスコットキャラクターになったとのこと。


I really wonder where that goat came from...

一体この山羊、どこから来たんだろう‥‥


We had some great food and excellent music. We hope we get a chance to play again next year too!

会場内で食べた料理もとてもおいしく、良い音楽と共に楽しみました。来年もまたここで演奏する機会があるといいな！

Live report from Lo-Fi 's tour

Lo-Fi was away in Europe for almost two weeks and we were able to do five good shows and some recording as well.
The concert we did in London was really great. We had some awesome photographers on site and obviously have more photos to share from this show!

Lo-Fiは約２週間ヨーロッパツアーに行っていた。５カ所でライブをすることができ、また現地でレコーディングもした。
ロンドンでのライブは本当に良かった。現地では、素晴らしいカメラマンがこれまた素晴らしい写真を撮ってくれた。その一部を載せておきます。



We did the show in London with our good friend Dan Baker and also with our pal from Hong Kong, David Ma.
It's so awesome that we got these guys together on the same stage! Dan we met when we opened for his one-man band at the Star Lounge in Shibuya.
David we met when his band opened for us at the Fringe Club in Central Hong Kong.
We opened our show with a jam session version of Realize…!

ロンドンでは、親友のDan Baker、香港から来た仲間David Maと一緒に演奏した。なんと二人が同じステージで共演することに！Danとの出会いは、渋谷スターラウンジで行われた彼のワンマンバンドのライブでの共演。Davidとは香港セントラルのライブハウス、Fringe Clubで彼のバンドと一緒に出演した時に出会った。
ロンドンのライブは、Realizeのジャムセッションバージョンから始めた！昔の曲はやらず、ほとんどStereo Soul(US/UK/JP amazonとiTunesで購買可能)の中から曲を選び、ライブの為にアレンジして演奏した。

We didn't do any of our old songs and mostly played songs from Stereo Soul (UK amazon.. but also on the US/UK/JP amazon and iTunes…) and arranged them for the show.

Here's a nice shot of Nori… we don't get much close shots of her as we should have in the past!!
The welcoming atmosphere of all the shows in the UK and Holland were really great for that free-style jamming that we love.
Below is  a photo of Yosh and me… another two close up shots I rarely see when we do shows in Tokyo. Even in Tokyo I think it's great to have a pro documenting the show!

Here's a shot of David Ma who's a bassist from Hong Kong joining us as a guitarist! He helped Lo-Fi organize our HK tour and on this tour we really talked about doing more shows in different parts of Asia too. I really hope that materializes next year.

香港からギタリストとして参加した(普段はベーシスト)Davidの写真！彼は香港ツアーや今回のツアーを企画し実現させるのを手伝ってくれた。俺達はもっとアジアの色んな場所でライブをしようと話し合った。来年本当に実現させたいな。

We really had an awesome crowd for all the shows and even though we were really worn out from the traveling and gear hauling… on stage we felt great! Thanks to everyone that came out to see the shows! It's great to see so many people dancing at a show…!

旅の道中、機材運びで疲れていたにも関わらず、全公演、素晴らしいお客さんに恵まれた‥ステージ上では最高の気分でした！ライブを見に来てくれた皆さん、本当にありがとう！たくさんの人達がライブで踊っているのを見るのは本当に嬉しい‥！

ユトレヒトでの出会い

ヨーロッパツアーライブ最終日は、オランダのユトレヒトにて、老舗ライブレストランで演奏しました。
ピアノとローズも置いてあり、どっちも使わせてもらいました。やっぱり生ピアノの音は良いなぁ。
本番前に外のテラス席で皆で食事をしました。
目の前を川が流れていて時々ボートが通り過ぎていったり、街の雰囲気も落ち着いていて、とても良い感じ。
ライブ演奏は前半後半と２ステージしました。
そして、、、ライブが終わった後ブラジル人ミュージシャンにとても良かった、と声をかけられました。その人はブラジルのトロピカリズモ全盛期に活躍し、今もその勢いを衰えない、Tom Ze本人！

私たちの演奏をすごく褒めてくれ、CDまで買ってくれ、機会があったら一緒にやりたいと言ってくれました。
ちょうどTom Zeはヨーロッパツアー中だったらしく、たまたまそのお店に来ていたようです。
私たちもまさかそんな人が見に来ているとは思ってもいなかったのでびっくりしましたが、
ユトレヒトで会って話ができたことにメンバー皆喜んで、また再会できる機会を楽しみにしているのでした。
