Forest Jam Grande 2011
Lo-Fi was part of The Forest Jam Grande event in Chiba Japan this year too! It was a really great atmosphere and we had fun playing with David again who dropped by from Hong Kong to do this show with us.

天気も良くとても清々しい空気で、そして香港から再びDavidがこのショーの為に来てくれ、一緒に演奏を楽しみました。
We event got to see the stray goat that ended up becoming the mascot for the whole event.
会場内で迷い山羊に出会ったが、この山羊はある日突然この山の中に現れたそうで、遂にイベントのマスコットキャラクターになったとのこと。
I really wonder where that goat came from...
一体この山羊、どこから来たんだろう‥‥
We had some great food and excellent music. We hope we get a chance to play again next year too!

Live report from Lo-Fi 's tour
Lo-Fi was away in Europe for almost two weeks and we were able to do five good shows and some recording as well.
The concert we did in London was really great. We had some awesome photographers on site and obviously have more photos to share from this show!
Lo-Fiは約２週間ヨーロッパツアーに行っていた。５カ所でライブをすることができ、また現地でレコーディングもした。
ロンドンでのライブは本当に良かった。現地では、素晴らしいカメラマンがこれまた素晴らしい写真を撮ってくれた。その一部を載せておきます。
We did the show in London with our good friend Dan Baker and also with our pal from Hong Kong, David Ma.
It's so awesome that we got these guys together on the same stage! Dan we met when we opened for his one-man band at the Star Lounge in Shibuya.

ロンドンでは、親友のDan Baker、香港から来た仲間David Maと一緒に演奏した。なんと二人が同じステージで共演することに！Danとの出会いは、渋谷スターラウンジで行われた彼のワンマンバンドのライブでの共演。Davidとは香港セントラルのライブハウス、Fringe Clubで彼のバンドと一緒に出演した時に出会った。
ロンドンのライブは、Realizeのジャムセッションバージョンから始めた！昔の曲はやらず、ほとんどStereo Soul(US/UK/JP amazonとiTunesで購買可能)の中から曲を選び、ライブの為にアレンジして演奏した。
We didn't do any of our old songs and mostly played songs from Stereo Soul (UK amazon.. but also on the US/UK/JP amazon and iTunes…) and arranged them for the show.

The welcoming atmosphere of all the shows in the UK and Holland were really great for that free-style jamming that we love.

Here's a shot of David Ma who's a bassist from Hong Kong joining us as a guitarist! He helped Lo-Fi organize our HK tour and on this tour we really talked about doing more shows in different parts of Asia too. I really hope that materializes next year.
香港からギタリストとして参加した(普段はベーシスト)Davidの写真！彼は香港ツアーや今回のツアーを企画し実現させるのを手伝ってくれた。俺達はもっとアジアの色んな場所でライブをしようと話し合った。来年本当に実現させたいな。
We really had an awesome crowd for all the shows and even though we were really worn out from the traveling and gear hauling… on stage we felt great! Thanks to everyone that came out to see the shows! It's great to see so many people dancing at a show…!

ユトレヒトでの出会い
ヨーロッパツアーライブ最終日は、オランダのユトレヒトにて、老舗ライブレストランで演奏しました。
ピアノとローズも置いてあり、どっちも使わせてもらいました。やっぱり生ピアノの音は良いなぁ。
本番前に外のテラス席で皆で食事をしました。
目の前を川が流れていて時々ボートが通り過ぎていったり、街の雰囲気も落ち着いていて、とても良い感じ。
ライブ演奏は前半後半と２ステージしました。
そして、、、ライブが終わった後ブラジル人ミュージシャンにとても良かった、と声をかけられました。その人はブラジルのトロピカリズモ全盛期に活躍し、今もその勢いを衰えない、Tom Ze本人！
私たちの演奏をすごく褒めてくれ、CDまで買ってくれ、機会があったら一緒にやりたいと言ってくれました。
ちょうどTom Zeはヨーロッパツアー中だったらしく、たまたまそのお店に来ていたようです。
私たちもまさかそんな人が見に来ているとは思ってもいなかったのでびっくりしましたが、
ユトレヒトで会って話ができたことにメンバー皆喜んで、また再会できる機会を楽しみにしているのでした。

On our way back
Lo-Fi's shows in the UK and Holland were really fun. Right now we're on the ferry making our way back to our flight from London.
We did our first show with Dan Baker as a special guest in Hoxton Square. The venue Zigfried Von Underbelly was really awesome.
We had some really nice photos taken by Kii Studios Photography and will post more soon!
Next day we did a show at another charity event in Brixton called the Oxjam.
After that we did a recording session in north London with David and headed out to Amsterdam.
Above is a shot of the Gallery we performed at before the show started in Eindhoven. We played a rock venue "Waterhole" in Amsterdam and also an underground venue in Utrecht!
We had so much support from so many people... Extremely grateful! We promise to be back again soon!

晴天続き
そうです。
全く降りません、雨。
それどころか、雲ってもいません。
空は一切重く無く、爽快な毎日です。
ほぼ奇跡ですね、コレは。
機材が濡れずに済んで、助かっております。
知らない土地で雨に降られると、ちょっと心細くなる、気がするし。
そして先日は急遽レコーディング。
何か凄い安い！
設備は、、、、ですが、エンジニアは素晴らしく良かった。ま、スタートまでのセッティングはのんびりしてましたが。。
海外でレコーディングする理由はこれか⁉って思える位安いよー！
多分、日本の半分以下。有名どころと比べたらホントにそのまた半分。もっとか？
何日もかけてとるなら、飛行機代は元が取れるな。
来年のツアー先の目星も少しずつつけられたし、楽しみが増えてきました。
ベルギー、フランス、イタリア、、、、、、
夢は広がります。

ロンドンの運転 訂正
先日、こっちの人の運転は優しい、なんて書きましたが訂正。なかなか荒っぽい人も多くて一安心です。
ちょっと郊外？に出れば交通量も落ちて、皆余裕が出るのだね。どの国も同じか。
夜の繁華街は日本よりも積極的な人が多いね。
割込みは当然ですが、普通に反対車線を使ってショートカットしたり、ショートカット失敗して飛び出したくせに、一歩も引かない強情な人がいたりと。
歩行者のダメな酔っ払いの数も多い。喧嘩も多いし、裸の奴がウロウロしてたりと活気のある街です。
でも、まぁ今のところ身の危険は感じません。スリにだけはアンテナはって過ごしてます。
結構住みやすそうだな、って思いました。

From Tokyo to London
I hate flying. Incredibly long hours sitting in a steel tube with engines roaring at like rock concert decibels.....
But I do enjoy getting out once in a while to see things.
We got into London in the evening and we went around the next day to check out the venues we were going to play at.
In the morning we went out to a cafe to have some good breakfast out in Hackney and found lots of graffiti along the way!!
Can't wait to do our first show at the Underbelly in Hoxton this Saturday.

London don
人生、初のロンドンです。
雨が多くて、空は灰色で、傘をささないで、背が高くて、皆杖を持っていて、夜はフーリガンがパブであばれて、というイメージで来ました。
イギリス人は背が高い、という偏見一杯で空港に降り立ったのですが、妙です。天井が低い！
そして、結構もの静か。
車も小さいのがお好きですね。
あ、そうそう。マニュアル車が多い！7割くらい？
嬉しい限りです。
Lo-Fiは電車移動が多いのですが、何か東京にいる感じです。電車のマナーとか、ホームの感じ、くすんだコンクリの感じとか、とにかく東京にいる感覚。
そして、東京の電車よりもグッと小さい！なぜ？
ま、なんだかんだで、だいぶロンドン慣れてきました。
明らかに、東京と違うのはこんなところです。
最後に、到着してから雨知らずの快晴続きです！

The UK Debut of the Japanese Band Lo-Fi as part of their first UK Tour 2011. Lo-Fi are an underground music trio that fuses Jazz Breakbeats, Hip-hop & Soul. www.lofi-net.com
Unshin
A J Pop/Rock influenced band fronted by Megumi Miyoshi, a singer/songwriter from Sendai, Japan.
They have just released their debut “Waltz for Broken Dolls” which is a concept album telling the story of a young girl growing up under the strict pressures of Japanese society, but manages to stay on her own path.
K-Shaped Rooms
A London-based band fusing blues, funk and American rock, influenced by Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police, Curtis Mayfield and Level 42.
GaYa
A Latvian Regina Spektor, now based in London - GaYa is an award-winning singer and musician influenced by Nina Simone, Bobby McFerrin, Bjork and Adele.
She has performed at various venues in Riga, the capital of Latvia, and her hometown Ogre as well as in some neighbour countries, and has been named The Best Voice Timbre at the vocal contest in Lithuania. In 2009 Gaya had an opportunity to sing with one of her great influences Bobby McFerrin at his solo concert in Sweden.
HAA - TO BII - TO [ハート ビート] is also a fundraising event for Aid For Japan.
Aid For Japan is a charity set up by Akemi Solloway that is raising money to support orphans of the Japanese Tsunami and Earthquake in the long term.
Founder, Akemi Solloway will be giving a short presentation on the charity as part of this live music event.

O-Nest ライブレポート7/28
7/28 O-NESTご来場頂いた皆様、ありがとうございました！
あんまり関係無いけど、下のam/pmが閉店してしまったのですね。あの灯りが無いだけで、少し不安になりました。いつから渋谷来てないんだ、って話。
さてさて、今回のイベントはいつもお世話になっているwasted timeというハコで知り合ったJabBeeさんから頂いたお話。
ありがとうございます。
んで、いきなりですが1曲目から5がやってくれました。
存在してなさそうでしている曲構成を、始まって30秒でぶっ壊してのベースソロ。
このバンドはその場の雰囲気と気分が最優先ですので、毎回ほぼ即興です。
メンバーは常に集中力が試されます。
緊張の連続です。
最近、レギュラーサポートメンバーとしてギターやピコピコしたもので参加して下さっているAOさんは、覚えた構成がほぼ無意味になり、大体笑っております。申し訳ありません。
そんなAOさんを見て、殴られないように、私も笑っております。申し訳ありません。
そうこうしているうちに、NORIちゃんのカッコいい鍵盤が響いていき、Lo-Fiのライブは終わりました。
Lo-Fiはライブが好きなバンドです。体力の続く限り、ライブをやります。レコーディングしかやらないバンドにはなりません。多分。
最後に。。。
最近やっと、MCで5が明るくなりました。10年以上かかりました。キッカケは教えてくれてませんが、めでたい事です。

あんまり関係無いけど、下のam/pmが閉店してしまったのですね。あの灯りが無いだけで、少し不安になりました。いつから渋谷来てないんだ、って話。
さてさて、今回のイベントはいつもお世話になっているwasted timeというハコで知り合ったJabBeeさんから頂いたお話。
ありがとうございます。
んで、いきなりですが1曲目から5がやってくれました。
存在してなさそうでしている曲構成を、始まって30秒でぶっ壊してのベースソロ。
このバンドはその場の雰囲気と気分が最優先ですので、毎回ほぼ即興です。
メンバーは常に集中力が試されます。
緊張の連続です。
最近、レギュラーサポートメンバーとしてギターやピコピコしたもので参加して下さっているAOさんは、覚えた構成がほぼ無意味になり、大体笑っております。申し訳ありません。
そんなAOさんを見て、殴られないように、私も笑っております。申し訳ありません。
そうこうしているうちに、NORIちゃんのカッコいい鍵盤が響いていき、Lo-Fiのライブは終わりました。
Lo-Fiはライブが好きなバンドです。体力の続く限り、ライブをやります。レコーディングしかやらないバンドにはなりません。多分。
最後に。。。

Live report Nakatsuka Takeshi event @ Jz Brat
中塚さんのイベント７月１６日は本当に楽しい一日でした！沢山の方に楽しんで頂けて感謝しています！スペシャルゲストでDan Bakerの時に一緒に共演した B-Bandjも一緒にまたステージを盛り上げてくれて、パーカッションにWinchester TETE Boyeが入ってくれました！楽しんでくれた皆様、ありがとう！
We did a really fun show at the Jz Brat located in the Cerulean Tower in Shibuya.
This event was hosted by Nakatsuka Takeshi who was also the host when we did the studio live on Nippon Broadcasting's "Suono Dolce" show.
We were really excited when we got the call asking us to be in his special event at the Jz Brat. We played with some really fun bands like LIL and the POP ORCHESTRA. Also we were pleasantly surprised to meet someone that had attended our show in Sapporo back when we released Stereo Soul and toured in Hokkaido.
For this show too we had B-Bandj join the Lo-Fi stage to MC over our tunes.
Our special guest musician was (from Ghana) Winchester "Tete" Boye. The music was really vibin' and as far as we could tell, it must have been a good show considering all the smiles from the great audience that night!
A special thanks also to the great staff that night that made it all happen....
BTW the dude on the photo left is Painter/designer DEO from our Painting events!

つい暑さに負けてしまって久しぶりの更新になってしまいました。。。！

Dan Bakerの"One Man Band"...最高！
昨日のライブは本当に楽しい事ばかりで、なんかイベントが終わるのが本当に寂しかったです。新しい友達も沢山できて、今回のライブでは
セカイイチのVocal 岩崎さん
Bird & タナカさん（guitar）
一人バンドのスーパーミュージシャン Dan Baker
と一緒にライブができて感動の夜でした。
何よりも凄い楽しい空気だったのが嬉しかったです。
Lo-Fiのステージの時もしょうもないトークを聞いて笑ってくれたり反応してもらえて本当に嬉しかったです。本当は引きこもり気味な自分は人前が苦手ですが、音楽やる時は、、、しょうがないですよね？なので引き続き頑張ります。
まだカメラマンから写真をもらえていないのが残念ですが、
会場も本当に気持ちいい空間で、是非またあそこでライブをやりたいです。
なんとなくオールスタンディングはちょっと厳しい気もしますが。。。
ゆっくり食事できるぐらいの雰囲気でも昨日のライブのフィーリングは合うのではないかと思いますが。如何でしょうか。イカがde生姜。
ライブはもちろん実現するのにはミュージシャンだけじゃなくて最高のスタッフのおかげで実現します。Star Loungeの皆様にも心からありがとうございます。楽しくステージができて感謝してます！無理を色々お願いして申し訳ございませんでしたが、良いサウンドでステージができて安心して演奏できました。

Live report from Delight Hiphop-R&B Party at Batica

６月１０日の Delightイベントは最高でした！
夜はかっこいいDJサウンドでスタートして終わりました！ライブは、
Lo-Fi は Beatboxerの AFRAとセッションをし、その後 Ucca-Laugh ー DJ TOMOKO と一緒に No One Elseのアレンジを演奏し、最後に The Grasshopper Setと一緒にジャムりました。

本番の時にはフロア一杯に集まってもらえて本当にワクワクしながらステージができました。
朝の２時過ぎだったにも関わらず。。。！本当に１２時過ぎると全然起きてられないメンバーですが、ライブとなると全然違う体のモードになるというか、スイッチが入って環境はカンケー無くなりますね！聞いている方とのエネルギーのリンクというか、本当に特別な空間だと思います。
次のライブは６月２９日に青山の 月見ル君想フ でライブがあるので、ここでは AOさんがギターで参加なので本当に楽しみです。今度はいつもと違うサウンドが見られるかも！？

(http://www.clubberia.com/artists/2281-DJ-YUKIJIRUSHI/) Ucca-Laugh, The Grasshopper Set... they did live performances with DJs first. Then AFRA took the stage with his beatboxing prowess! We jammed on a song and then shifted to the Lo-Fi stage ending with a collaboration with Ucca-Laugh and DJ tomoko and the Grasshopper Set.
We only got a photo of our rehearsal on Yosh's iphone cam, but we're sure to have some more photos up soon from the show....
In the meanwhile we want to update you on our next show on the 29th this month in Aoyama, Tsukimirukimiomou.
This time we're looking forward to doing a special jam with Ao on guitar and more!

先日のライブは本当に楽しいライブでした。5月20日に恵比寿のBaticaでバンド+DJのミックスイベントに出演しましたが、小さい編成のトリオで結構ジャム曲も披露できていつもと全然違うLo-Fiの一面も見られたのではないかと思います！

We did a show at the Batica in Ebisu on May 20th. It was a good show, where we did a pretty long set with some new songs too. We actually did a jam on an instrumental song that I came up with a while ago.
Lo-Fi was part of the exPOP event at the O-Next in March.

４月２１日の夜は渋谷の O-Nest で Lo-Fi も配信している Vibirth と CINRAが企画しているイベント EXPOP に出演しました。
今回は Lo-Fi がトップバッターだったにも関わらず多くの人が会場に集まっていまして本当に嬉しかったです！
イベントに出演したアーティストは http://expop.jp/schedule/49.php にも掲載されていますが、
と熱いメンツでした。楽しい夜だったけど、会場が混んでいて皆様にちゃんと挨拶ができなくて残念でした！ 早い時間から踊ってくれているのも見えたし本当に嬉しかったです。
今回のセットリストは What We Fight For, Brown Sugar, We Are All, Higher, Realizeをやりました。しかも、今まで特定の曲でコラボしたした事の無いギタリスト／サウンドデザイナーの Aoさんもライブに参加してもらえたので非常に楽しかったです。
本当に一緒に音楽ができて楽しいアーティストですが、こんな人です：

1956年 富山県生まれ。1978年よりCM、映画、音楽等の録音、MIX,サウンドデザインを主な仕事とする。とくに得意なのはFIELD RECORDING。写真のように音を切り取る。POST PRODUCTIONを数社経験し、1997年独立。現在FREE。エンジニアの他TECHNO系ARTIST”凪NAGI”としても活動中。SUPER DELUXE,MODULEなどに出演。音に関して全部やるのが主義。

Haven't been able to update much in English these days but wanted to thank everyone for coming out on the 21st to our show with Vibirth and CINRA at the O-nest in Shibuya.
We had a great time playing with some cool groups that night and made a lot of new friends.
Sorry that we couldn't say hi to everyone in the midst of the party....!
We also did some shows before the 21st at Batica in Ebisu for an all night "Back To The Nineties" hiphop R&B event. We backed some great singers that night and did a short set of Lo-Fi songs and a we also did D'angelo cover. (one of our favorite '90s artists)
For April we'll be doing another show in Yokohama, at the Road and the Sky
We posted the web flyer above (Japanese). We'll be doing the show with FreeasyBeats and Kat Mcdowell. We're going to do several songs with Kat so it should be something to look forward too!

Lo-Fiな最近
昨日の早朝に 恵比寿の新しいクラブの BATICAのライブから帰ってきたばかりです。
オールナイトは無理だと思っていましたが、楽しいイベントだとできてしまうのがビックリ。
今回は Back to the '90sの Hip-Hop, R&B イベントで、色々懐メロ大会的な曲の中に Lo-Fiの曲が入れて楽しかった！
上記の写真はイベントの始まる少し前で、ライブスペースの下にある入り口のラウンジエリア！
この写真はメインフロアのDJ！ Smiff n Wesson が流れたときはビビった！！！
３月の地震後は色々とイベントが流れてしまったが、４月の頭にいつもライブで参加しているWastedでチャリティーイベントにも出演しました。
なんだかチャリティーイベントだらけの最近だから、Lo-Fiの活動もどうバランスとるか考えていました。それで最近は急に色々新しい出演依頼が入ってきて、Dan Bakerのイベントや音楽配信関係の会社やっているイベントも入りましたので、またサイトで情報をのせます。
オールナイトは無理だと思っていましたが、楽しいイベントだとできてしまうのがビックリ。
今回は Back to the '90sの Hip-Hop, R&B イベントで、色々懐メロ大会的な曲の中に Lo-Fiの曲が入れて楽しかった！
３月の地震後は色々とイベントが流れてしまったが、４月の頭にいつもライブで参加しているWastedでチャリティーイベントにも出演しました。
